Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at American Veterinary Group. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and client service in our fast-paced multi-doctor animal hospital.

The successful candidate will assist veterinarians with the care of animals, including restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools, and ensuring that equipment is in working order. You will also communicate effectively with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multitask. Our ideal candidate will be an energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills. Flexibility to work varying hours and some weekends is required.

• Assist veterinarians with animal care and examinations
• Restrain animals when necessary
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies
• Sterilize tools and ensure equipment is in working order
• Communicate with clients and update patient files

We are looking for someone who:

• Has prior customer service experience
• Can lift 40 lbs
• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and strong communication skills
• Is able to multitask and work well under pressure
• Has prior experience preferred but not required

$45,000 - $60,000 per year based on experience.
