Machine Shop Machinist

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Connecticut. As a Machinist at SPIROL International Corporation, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machine shop equipment, producing parts to print specifications, and working with Design Engineers to machine parts for research and development projects.

• Read and interpret 2D prints and drawings to produce parts to specifications.
• Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including mills, grinders, CNC lathes, and wire EDM machines.
• Produce parts to print specifications, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Work with Design Engineers to machine parts for research and development projects.
• Perform inspections on parts during the manufacturing process to ensure quality.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators, to inspect work and ensure no defective parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying issues and providing solutions to reduce cost and improve performance.

• Machining program graduate or equivalent experience.
• Ability to set up and operate a lathe to produce turned products to within 0.002" tolerance.
• Ability to set up and operate a mill to produce milled products to within 0.005" tolerance.
• Ability to set up and operate a surface grinder to produce ground products to within 0.0005" tolerance.
• Ability to read individual and assembly drawings.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
