Job Overview

Position Summary:
As a Production Technician, you will be integral to the assembly of specialized products and battery packs on a manufacturing line, ensuring alignment with client specifications and requirements. Your role will also encompass the preparation, operation, and upkeep of manufacturing equipment, performing routine maintenance and basic repairs to maintain optimal functionality. You will conduct inspections and quality control assessments throughout various stages of production to guarantee compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble a designated quantity of custom products and battery packs according to client specifications.
  • Utilize hand, power, and automated manufacturing tools, including air and hydraulic torque tools, to construct complex products to precise standards.
  • Follow diverse work instructions, including production drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics, to build products accurately.
  • Manage multiple projects across various workstations, adapting to different production stages throughout the day.
  • Perform tests on products to ensure quality and accuracy, including executing computer scripts for battery pack validation.
  • Prepare and organize workstations with the necessary tools and materials for efficient operation.
  • Operate material handling equipment to facilitate the movement of parts in and out of workstations.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment by adhering to established safety standards and reporting any potential hazards.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols diligently.
  • Maintain records of consumption and waste, as well as complete daily logbooks.
  • Collect data and generate reports to fulfill reporting obligations and collaborate with other departments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and various teams within Stafl Systems, including Quality, Engineering, and Project Management.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, and performing repetitive tasks for 8-10 hours daily.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to read small print on labels and record data accurately.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards for working with high and low voltage equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing and assembly or a related field.
  • Proficient in following various work instructions, including manufacturing guidelines and schematics.
  • Experience with manufacturing tools and machinery, including hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Knowledge of wire harnessing and product testing to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to adhere to production schedules and engage in critical thinking regarding processes.
  • Willingness to provide constructive feedback when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic computer skills for tasks such as email communication and running validation scripts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the battery or electric vehicle industry.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing technology.
  • Experience with laser welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) practices.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance, including calibration and troubleshooting.
