Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee rail shipments to confirm adherence to schedules and proactively address any delays or complications.
  • Diagnose and resolve logistical challenges associated with rail transport, including delays, damages, and other interruptions.
  • Maintain precise records of the railcar fleet within both internal and external systems.
  • Generate and distribute fleet activity reports to relevant stakeholders on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, railroads, and service providers to rectify railcar delays stemming from order inaccuracies, billing discrepancies, overloads, misroutes, and railroad errors.
  • Conduct audits, process, and settle rail freight invoices.
  • Support the Logistics Manager with additional rail-related tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree; or two or more years of relevant experience in rail logistics or the scrap metal processing sector; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze multi-step processes and adhere to instructions.
  • Willingness to be on call as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Completion of pre-employment background checks, physical examinations, and drug screenings is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
