Drafting Specialist

The Drafter is responsible for the production of bills of material, assembly of production packages, and other similar duties. Maintains procedures and processes that support core machines technologies. Takes lead in coordinating nesting tasks with production schedules.
Key Responsibilities- Support the CARE values of the organization
- Commit to producing a quality product for our customers
- Drafting CAD drawings for Customer Sign Off
- Focus on processing Customer Drawings through the order entry CAD Tool
- 2nd Checking Engineered/Pre-engineered Drawings
- Speaking with Customers regarding submitted/pending CAD Drawings
- Read and understand architectural documents, including the ability to determine the millwork scope requirements
- Maintains database by entering new and updated customer and account information
- Coordinates with Partner Dealer Response Specialists to compile and prioritize customer orders for entry
- Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies and resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Partner Dealer Response Specialist for resolution
- Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format
- Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
- Review customer accounts for duplication and update them accordingly
- Secures information by completing database backups
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field preferred, high school diploma required
- 1-2 years CAD/Drafting experience preferred, but not required
- Experience or willing to learn- Cabinet Vision, Cabinetware, and Microvellum
- Cabinet building knowledge and experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office- especially Microsoft Excel
- Detail oriented and organized
- Excellent computer experience
- Ability to prioritize work based on customer need
- Good communication skills, both orally and in writing
Communication is required across all levels of the organization - executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The Customer Care Response Drafter works under the immediate supervision of the Customer Service Manager.
PPESafety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes at all times while on the production floor.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
Non-air-conditioned environments; hazardous materials such paints, stains and solvents; machinery, conveyors, spray-booths and drying racks.
