Banner Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Phoenix, Arizona. This full-time, ongoing position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive salary, estimated to be around $93,000 per year, based on national averages for a Registered Nurse in Arizona.



As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will be part of a renowned team that has been recognized on the Becker's Hospital Review 2023 'Great hospitals in America' list. Our hospital is known for its clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research, and education.



The Progressive Care Unit is a vital part of our hospital, providing a setting of care for patients who require additional diagnostic workup beyond a typical Emergency Department visit. With a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and a mix of LPN model, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality care to our patients. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.



About the Job

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice. You will be accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by yourself or others under your direction.



Responsibilities


  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family, and health team input.
  • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the activities of the health care team.
  • Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure. BLS certification is required, and additional certification or continuing education may be needed based on the area of practice.



Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired. You must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which you work, as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.



Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification is also preferred. Additional related education and/or experience are also beneficial.
