Hennepin County is seeking two Senior Psychiatric Mental Health Professionals to join our Community Alternative Response Team (CART). As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide intensive clinical services to adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach.
Key Responsibilities- Complete initial clinical assessments and intakes with individuals referred to CART for services, including collaborating with the Hennepin County Pre-Petition Screening Team to offer CART services to individuals diverted from the civil commitment process.
- Provide case management services, connecting clients to services and supports in the community, including referrals to mental health, medical health, basic needs, housing, financial assistance, and employment.
- Assess changes in functioning and mental status, responding to changes to meet client needs in a timely manner and providing crisis intervention when necessary.
- Coordinate and collaborate with individuals, families, and providers in the community.
- Engage in clinical consultation, training, and community engagement.
- Master's degree or higher in social work or a closely related field and two or more years of post-master's degree experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Qualification as a Mental Health Professional as defined by the state of Minnesota.
- A valid driver's license, ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit, and access to reliable transportation to visit community sites throughout Hennepin County.
- Experience working with adult mental health targeted case management services and other treatment programs that work with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, person-centered thinking, and county and community resources for adults with mental health and substance use disorders.
