Your Responsibilities
- Effectively prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all aspects of patient care.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and reporting any safety concerns.
- Assist in the clinic's workflow by welcoming patients, preparing them for examinations, recording vital signs, and identifying any abnormal findings or emergencies for the medical provider's attention.
- Conduct patient procedures as directed, manage appointment scheduling, and facilitate a seamless patient exit from the clinic.
- Guarantee continuity of care and comfort, while providing consistent communication and an outstanding experience for each patient.
- Administer prescribed medications and vaccinations, manage medication inventory, and ensure proper disposal of expired medications.
- Collect necessary clinical documentation and retrieve medical records as required by the medical provider.
- Accurately document clinical tasks, tests, and procedures in the patient medical record, and proficiently navigate electronic medical records for updates and scheduling.
- Consult with supervisors when challenges arise in completing assignments or tasks effectively and safely.
- Initiate educational discussions with patients and families, utilizing appropriate resources and care services.
- Support team dynamics by assisting colleagues proactively.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid nursing license to practice in Louisiana as mandated by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
