Job Summary

The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at our healthcare facilities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor healthcare environments to prevent security incidents and de-escalate emerging situations.
  • Provide protective services and, with proper training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license if required by the local Health System.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar training completed within local Health System requirements.
  • Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.
