Situated in Jackson, MS, UMMC serves as the sole academic health science center in the state, dedicated to enhancing the health of Mississippians through the education of future healthcare professionals, conducting health sciences research, and delivering state-of-the-art patient care.

UMMC comprises seven health science schools:
