Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team to provide peer support and motivation to patients in a healthcare facility setting.
  • Assist patients and family members in understanding community services and linking them to substance treatment services.
  • Consult with nursing staff and social work team members to identify patient needs and provide support.
  • Model coping techniques and self-help strategies for patients and family members.
  • Provide telephone outreach to patients to assist with linkages and continued peer support.
  • Verify patient attendance at treatment appointments and follow up with patients who miss appointments.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or with individuals with addiction issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
