Job Description:

Baptist Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support patient engagement in our Central Pharmacy.

  • Stay updated with pharmacy trends related to the role and practice setting through personal development.
  • Effectively communicate and represent pharmacy throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Process prescription orders and adjudications for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions as permitted by state regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Navigate dispensing software to perform administrative tasks, including prescription processing, delivery coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Resolve insurance problems and communicate anticipated prescription delays to patients in a timely manner.
  • Utilize software tools to synchronize patient medication refills.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients related to medication fulfillment needs and escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist.
  • Provide excellent care, demonstrating empathy and compassion to patients and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with the central pharmacy dispensing team to coordinate services and prescription fulfillment.
  • Assist in maintaining the call center department by ensuring cleanliness and completing assigned tasks at the end of the shift.
  • Escalate problems to a pharmacist or manager if unable to resolve independently.
  • Contribute to training new staff and participate in team meetings.

Minimum Education and Training

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician registration with the KY Board of Pharmacy must be completed before or on the date of hire.

Experience

  • Previous retail, mail order, central/call center pharmacy work experience is preferred.
