Position Overview - NURSE ANESTHETIST POOL
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a vital role in delivering anesthesia care during various medical procedures, working collaboratively within a healthcare team under the guidance of an anesthesiologist. The CRNA is responsible for conducting thorough patient evaluations, maintaining effective communication with healthcare professionals, optimizing resource utilization for superior patient care, and meticulously documenting all aspects of care in the designated records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer general and regional anesthesia, as well as Monitored Anesthesia Care, during surgical and obstetric procedures under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
- Assess patient conditions and provide recommendations regarding anesthesia techniques and medications to the attending anesthesiologist in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Conduct pre-procedure checks of anesthesia equipment, monitoring devices, supplies, medications, and gases.
- Continuously monitor and document patient vital signs, medication administration, and any reactions or responses during the procedure.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience as part of a CRNA program (Required)
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in an academic medical center or as a CRNA.
Licenses and Certifications:
- PA Registered Nurse License (RN-LIC) (Required)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Required)
