Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at Childrens Hospital Of The Kings Daughter. As a Staff Nurse in this dynamic environment, you will provide individualized nursing care to critically ill children and their families, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, provide, and monitor individualized nursing care to patients in the PICU, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and family.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and collaboration.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
- Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
- Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience; BSN preferred.
- RN certification preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards, including excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
