Job Overview

Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate inventory control, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying items against work orders.
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase orders and received items to confirm correct quantities.
  • Designate storage locations for incoming products and manage warehouse space efficiently.
  • Assist in the physical movement of items to their designated storage areas.
  • Generate and process picking tickets to facilitate order fulfillment.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to manage inventory and replenish stock.
  • Evaluate the quality and quantity of picked items, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
  • Document any damaged or defective items and coordinate replacements as per company policy.
  • Manage returns and exchanges, adhering to reverse distribution protocols.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly labeled and accompanied by necessary documentation.
  • Assemble shipping containers or utilize pre-assembled options as required.
  • Route products to appropriate departments for processing.
  • Attach necessary identification and delivery instructions to containers.
  • Maintain organized records of shipped goods.
  • Process small package orders using UPS Worldship and FedEx Ship Manager.
  • Handle documentation for hazardous materials as needed.
  • Manage requests for thermal transfer labels to support various warehouse operations.
  • Uphold a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with bartender software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills for performing calculations involving measurements, ratios, and percentages.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED; relevant experience or training is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to typical warehouse conditions, including noise, dust, and various odors.
