Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN

We're seeking a skilled Progressive Care Unit RN for an immediate travel nurse opportunity in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Job Summary:

As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals who require close monitoring and frequent assessment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing basic bedside care and stabilizing critical cardiac patients
  • Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs
  • Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medication, and reporting any adverse reactions
  • Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients, and interpreting and recording electronic displays
  • Initiating corrective action when information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology

You should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. Lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times. Due to the fast-paced environment, Progressive Care Unit RNs must possess good stress-coping skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements:
  • BLS certification
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience

Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
