Key Responsibilities

Primary Role: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of shuttle buses while transporting passengers along designated routes.

Core Duties:

  • Perform pre-trip inspections of the assigned shuttle bus prior to each shift.
  • Conduct post-trip vehicle assessments at the end of each shift and report any issues to the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to the scheduled route and maintain punctuality.
  • Keep the interior of the buses clean, refuel as necessary, log trip counts, and assist passengers with disabilities.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding shuttle bus operation.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license while on duty.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record as per company standards.
  • Provide courteous assistance to customers, addressing their inquiries and directing them to the Supervisor when needed.
  • Report any accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Supervisor or General Manager.
  • Communicate any hazards such as debris or spills to the Supervisor.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the garage area and major streets, landmarks, and highways nearby.
  • Assist customers with luggage and other travel items as required.
  • Support Supervisors with additional tasks as necessary.
Qualifications

Requirements: To successfully perform this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. CDL training or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A, B, or C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement, in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Medical Certification: A valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
  • Compliance: All drivers must adhere to federal and local CDL regulations and report any disqualifying situations, including random and post-accident drug testing.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Communication Skills: Clear speaking ability, active listening, and responsiveness to inquiries.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a neat and clean appearance, adhering to uniform standards.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changes in the work environment and handle unexpected situations.
  • Judgment: Demonstrate sound decision-making abilities.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude and respond effectively to service requests.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this position include regular standing, walking, and using hands for equipment handling. Employees may occasionally need to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
