Position Summary: The Culinary Service Associate is a pivotal role that engages with customers in a professional manner, fostering relationships and ensuring satisfaction. This position entails the preparation of food items while upholding food safety and sanitation standards across the store.

General Purpose: To deliver exceptional customer satisfaction by providing competitively priced, high-quality products and services in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. To contribute to the community through volunteer efforts and generate a return on assets that ensures the ongoing success of our employees and the organization. To embody our "Living Brand" by cultivating customer relationships.

Role Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must successfully complete all competency assessments
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Reliable transportation is necessary
  • Willingness to travel daily between various locations as needed

Position Responsibilities:

  • Exceed expectations of the Family Express culture by building relationships, promoting the Living Brand, and acting as a product brand advocate
  • Complete all financial and auditing tasks as per company-approved procedures
  • Operate and maintain all approved food service and store equipment effectively
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu to recommend items and address customer inquiries
  • Prepare food orders accurately while ensuring adherence to recipes
  • Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation protocols during food preparation and service
  • Maintain cleanliness of the food service area, including workspaces and equipment
  • Adhere to company policies and standards for food preparation
  • Complete shift checklists and temperature logs in compliance with food handling procedures
  • Ensure food warmers are stocked and maintained throughout the shift
  • Assist in stocking shelves with inventory and products
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: The role requires standing for extended periods, working shifts of up to ten hours, and performing various physical tasks such as reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
  • Work Environment: Flexibility to work all shifts and days of the week is essential. Ability to endure extreme temperatures for short periods and exposure to cleaning solvents is required.
