Overview

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and support services.

About the Role

This part-time, temporary position requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, develop personalized care plans, and implement effective treatment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted care plans.
  • Medication Administration and Management: Safely administer medications, monitor patient responses, and maintain accurate records of medication usage.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and address concerns promptly.
  • Clinical Decision-Making: Use critical thinking skills to evaluate patient data, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions about patient care.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Nursing Degree: Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
  • Certification and Licensing: Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines, excellent patient experience skills, ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems, and ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
