Catering Waitstaff Job Description

Become a part of the Bennington College team as a Catering Waitstaff, supporting Dining Services with special events on campus.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up facilities for events, including tables, dishware, and linens, according to event requirements and manager's direction.
  • Know the menu for each function and be able to explain ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Serve in a timely manner, promoting excellent customer service and resolving guest complaints.
  • Maintain clean tables and banquet areas, and an organized linen storage area.
  • Implement and maintain Vermont Health Code policies and procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings, and maintain close communication with Dining Services Manager and staff.

Requirements:
  • Prior wait staff experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to learn and perform duties in accordance with Vermont State Health Regulations.

Working conditions and physical demands include working in a fast-paced dining services area, with extreme temperatures, and requiring routine medium physical exertion.
