HCA Capital Division is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the pediatric unit and deliver exceptional patient care to children from birth through their late teens and into early adulthood.

Job Summary and Qualifications
  • As a registered nurse, you will deliver patient-centered care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adult patients who present with a variety of acute and chronic conditions and disabilities.
  • Working closely with pediatric intensivists, pediatricians, therapists, registered dieticians, pharmacists, and case managers/social workers, you will create and implement a care plan to meet each patient's specific needs.
  • For patients with diabetes, asthma, spinal corrections, orthopedic procedures, concussions, and fractures, general pediatric surgery needs, croup, respiratory distress, pneumonia, and other conditions, you will deliver standard medications and perform tests, regularly monitor and record vital signs, and assess improvement.
  • Using computerized documentation systems, you will monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions throughout their stay from admission to discharge.
  • When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers, you will maintain cultural and diversity awareness.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
  • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a pediatric unit preferred.
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
