We are seeking a Software Licensing Management Specialist to join our team at Cynet Systems.
Position: Software Licensing Management Specialist
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract
Compensation: $72/hr - $75/hr
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily and strategic administration of the software portfolio to enhance value, control costs, and mitigate risks associated with Software and SaaS investments.
- Manage the tracking, maintenance, and coordination of license and maintenance agreement renewals with software stakeholders.
- Generate comprehensive reports aggregating data from various sources to illustrate license entitlements, installations, usage metrics, renewal timelines, procurement statuses, and identify data discrepancies while developing and implementing standardized Software Asset Management (SAM) practices.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, including software owners, system administrators, project managers, financial analysts, and engineers to gather essential information for effective software management.
- Influence decisions regarding software licensing models and terms that significantly affect the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Maintain precise Software Licensing information in repositories to support budgeting, compliance, inventory management, contracts, and cost analysis.
- Work alongside Software Owners to manage enterprise license true-ups and reconciliations.
- Provide assistance during software publisher audits and support dispute resolution efforts.
- Advise on audit defense strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities through software re-harvesting and license optimization.
- Respond to inquiries from software owners, end users, managers, developers, and team members regarding specific IT Software Asset Management information.
- Stay updated on new and revised software license models and options for major manufacturers.
- Continuously evaluate risks and cost reduction opportunities, making recommendations to Software Owners and SAM leadership to optimize the software asset portfolio.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with Asset Management tools and technologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro is essential; Flexera experience is a plus.
- Understanding of Software Asset Management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of product use rights for leading publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and synthesize large volumes of information.
- Familiarity with hardware technologies and configurations, including virtualization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a matrixed organizational structure.
