Nurse Anesthetist

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team. As a CRNA, you will provide anesthesia services to surgical patients, participate in the training of student nurse anesthetists, and follow all operating room, department, and hospital rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Provide anesthesia services to surgical patients
• Participate in the training of student nurse anesthetists
• Follow all operating room, department, and hospital rules and regulations
• Fully participate in all Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) call assignments
Requirements:
• Minimum of three months experience or training to work in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required unless candidate meets all of the factors to qualify for Exception A or Exception B
• Ability to identify potential situations of abuse required
• Ability to handle low volume, high risk situations such as malignant hypothermia required
• Computer competency to include working with patient information system required
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Strong verbal and written communications skills required
• Strong organizational skills required
• Attention to detail required
• Knowledge and capability of managing age-specific needs of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric required
• Knowledge or training in managing anesthesia care for solid organ transplants (excluding heart and lung transplantation) required
• Capability in an Anesthesia Care Team approach required
• Proficient in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia and I.V. sedation required
• Currently licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) upon hire date required
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire date required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the operating room working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) preferred
• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred
