About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Nursing Faculty member to join our team at West Coast University. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of nurses by providing guidance, academic support, and mentorship to our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Mentoring: Serve as a role model and facilitator who provides guidance and academic support for students, demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and the teaching/learning process.
  • Curriculum Development: Participate in and contribute to assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan set forth by the University.
  • Classroom Management: Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, always with intent to facilitate observable evidence of student fulfillment of prescribed learning outcomes.
  • Scholarly Activities: Maintain scholarly activities and participate in professional growth and service in accordance with university policies.
  • Clinical Experience: If working with students in a clinical setting, assume complete responsibility for students in clinical facilities, clarify clinical expectations with students, and assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and optimal care to patients.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in nursing and professional nurse licensure required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and a minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed, and working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process.
