Job Summary

Shasta Community Health Center is seeking a highly skilled Obstetrician Physician to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide quality outpatient obstetrical care in a compassionate and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality Patient Care: Take appropriate history, perform physical examinations, order diagnostics, and implement therapy according to standard obstetrical medical practice.
  • Document Clinical Activities: Document clinical activities effectively and efficiently using electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate Care: Obtain appropriate consults and coordinate care with specialists when problems or diagnoses presented are outside the scope of practice.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients throughout the physician-patient relationship, provide patient education, and demonstrate respect for culturally determined needs.
  • Meet Community Standards: Meet or exceed community standards of care in obstetrics and primary care.
  • Supervise Staff: Supervise PA's, FNP's, Nurse Midwives, Residents, and Students according to standardized procedures.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in clinic quality improvement programs and maintain competent knowledge in delivering healthcare to patients.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a nationally accredited Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified OB/GYN.
  • California License: California license upon hire and maintain current without any limitations on license to practice in area of specialty.
  • BLS Certification: BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Clinic Experience: Previous outpatient clinic experience working with an indigent population preferred.
  • Specialized Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred.
