Dietary Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team at Vetras Healthcare LLC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for serving meals to residents, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring that residents receive appropriate meals and snacks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serving meals to residents at mealtimes
• Assisting in food preparation, including peeling carrots, potatoes, making salad, and desserts
• Portioning and placing food servings on plates and trays according to diet lists on menu cards
• Inspecting trays for completeness and conformity to prescribed cards to ensure appropriate meals and snacks are given to residents
• Reading and following tray cards and written diet orders accurately
• Meeting scheduled meal and snack times
• Setting tables with utensils, glasses, napkins, and condiments
• Resetting tables for next meal
• Preparing milk, juice, coffee, tea, and water for residents at mealtimes
• Filling and turning on steam tables
• Collecting and stacking dirty dishes on carts and returning them to the kitchen
• Scraping, washing, and racking dishes for the dishwasher or manual cleaning
• Drying and putting away dishes, glasses, trays, utensils, pots, and pans
• Operating kitchen equipment safely
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces in the food preparation and service areas
• Providing service, assistance, support, and supervision to residents
• Encouraging socialization among residents
• Assisting in keeping the environment safe for residents
• Collecting and placing garbage and trash in designated containers
• Maintaining sanitation and safety standards
• Following cleaning schedules and performing cleaning duties as scheduled
• Attending in-service educational programs
• Reporting any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment
• Reporting to Nurse observations made during regular duties
