Electrical Design Engineer

The role of an Electrical Design Engineer at Allient Incorporated involves providing engineering support for new customer application development, product launch, cost reductions, and manufacturing improvements through collaboration with sales, engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the design and release to production of products that meet customer needs and reflect current/future strategic manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and interpret engineering data when new products and components, modifications, and changes affect standard products.
- Confer with manufacturing engineering to provide assistance in methodizing product operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or subcontracting, labor and material cost estimates.
- Develop and present technical information that aids in strategic planning initiatives.
- Recommend resources required to enhance product performance and/or resolve design/manufacturing issues.
- Plan and develop experimental test programs. Analyze test data and report to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Work with members of production and engineering staff to solve problems associated with design and manufacturing of products.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
- 0-8 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors, and drives a plus.
- Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Solid computer skills including MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc.
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience.

- Predominantly office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.
- Some travel required.
