Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 3 Infection Control to join our team at the New York State Office of Mental Health. As a key member of our infection control team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an infection control and prevention program that adheres to established standards and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an infection control and prevention program that meets established standards and policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to prevent and control infections.
  • Provide education and training to patients and staff on infection control and prevention practices.
  • Collect and analyze data on infection rates and trends, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments and committees to ensure effective infection control and prevention practices.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
  • Three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with at least one year of experience in infection control and prevention.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing can be substituted for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
  • Master's degree in nursing can substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
  • Current Certified in Infection Control (CIC) certificate issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology can substitute for one year of infection control program experience.
