Residential Caregiver

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Residential Aide to join our team at Lantern Community Services Inc. The successful candidate will provide direct services to shelter clients, fostering a nurturing environment and ensuring their safety and well-being.

• Process new client intakes, including completion of preliminary documentation and orientation to the facility.
• Assist in planning and organizing recreational activities, events, and outings.
• Maintain daily logs, visitor and client sign-ins, and other record keeping.
• Utilize Safe Crisis Management in responding to incidents and complete incident documentation as required.
• Complete electronic shift summaries and generate daily client census and curfew violation reports.
• Serve meals to clients at breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.
• Conduct fire drills and generate documentation as required.
• Conduct routine inventory of equipment and supplies.

• High School Diploma, HSE, or GED required.
• 2 years of experience working in a shelter setting or security experience required.
• Food handler's certification required or willingness to obtain in 3 months.
• Must be adept and comfortable with crisis intervention.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to get along with clients of various cultures and backgrounds.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proven organization and logistical skills.
• Ability to respond to and assess urgent situations.

• Experience working in a homeless shelter and/or with mentally ill clients preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
