A Day in the Life of a Diesel Mechanic Technician Class A
We're seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician Class A to join our team As a key member of our maintenance crew, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of our fleet diesel equipment.
The Job
As a Diesel Mechanic Technician Class A, you will diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles under minimal supervision. Your responsibilities may include:
- Completing overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmission.
- Performing preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
- Ensuring equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as "roadworthy".
- Completing thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computers.
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Training/providing guidance to other Mechanics.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
- 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.
Estimated Salary: $67,400 - $83,200 per year
