We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Florida Atlantic University. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for independently overseeing routine and emergency work requests related to maintenance and utility matters.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Facility Operations to prioritize and manage repair matters, including plumbing, electrical fixtures, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building-related elements.
- Log and manage work orders through designated systems, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding special events and needs, serving as a liaison between Campus Recreation and Facilities Management Staff.
- Develop plans and budgets for special projects and renovations, working closely with the supervisor to ensure successful execution.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in related fields, such as facility maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A comprehensive understanding of repair processes and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
