Job Overview

The Personal Training Manager (PTM) is a key leadership role responsible for driving business growth and delivering exceptional member experiences in our state-of-the-art fitness clubs.

This dynamic leader will create and support a positive team culture, drive operational excellence, and manage a team of high-performing trainers to deliver results-driven fitness solutions to our discerning clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Leadership:
    • Lead the business management of trainers, including PDMs, projections, calendar management, lead and client communication, and oversight of complimentary services delivery
    • Conduct regular business management meetings to support trainer development and goal achievement
    • Establish clear targets, follow up, provide feedback, and support progress to ensure accountability and success
    • Collaborate with Membership Advisors for PT Sales takeovers
  • Operational Management:
    • Lead New Hire Onboarding, focusing on operational and sales components
    • Provide PT business and sales coaching to trainers
    • Utilize scheduling tools to create floor schedules and manage team service delivery
    • Generate PT Sales leads, schedule lead generation activities, and support trainer development
    • Set goals for in-club special events and execute follow-up activities
    • Host monthly PT department forums to promote team engagement and knowledge sharing
    • Implement and execute operational SOPs, including administrative duties related to client outreach and staff accountabilities
  • KPI Management:
    • Achieve monthly and annual department financial goals
    • Proactively address business trends in fitness assessment conversions, client attrition, and training frequency
    • Performance manage all trainers and coaches
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Communicate with potential leads and clients
    • Manage client pipelines, including new members
    • Clearly outline pipeline responsibilities in partnership with secondary Manager on staff (where applicable)
    • Schedule new member assessments, including Tier X Assessments where offered
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate ability to drive financial performance
  • Exhibit sales skills with a focus on attracting new clients and retention
  • Strong business acumen and leadership capability
  • Create a positive team culture with adherence to brand standards
  • Possess collaborative social skills and desire to interact with members, clients, and staff
  • Ability to manage high volumes of inbound communication and react in a timely manner
  • Strong technical skills and ability to hire, train, and direct staff who match the brand
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the fitness industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability for successful team leadership
  • Exercise Science or Sports Management Degree preferred. Current national certification, CPR/AED, First Aid
Compensation and Benefits

Equinox offers a competitive salary of $64,350, plus the opportunity to earn bonus and commissions by conducting sessions.
