As a key member of the Gigafactory Production team, you will play a critical role in leading a dynamic team of Associates and Leads while managing operations and driving metrics in critical areas of the Manufacturing floor. You will work cross-functionally with our manufacturing and operations teams, interfacing with Engineering, NPI, and Material Flow, to ensure production goals are being met.
Responsibilities- Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets.
- Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity.
- Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members.
- Support issue resolution, including root cause investigation and corrective action tracking.
- Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area.
- Develop and maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members.
- 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting (preferred).
- Experience in selecting and developing new team members.
- Able to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs).
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis and strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to work a flexible shift, including nights and weekends, if necessary.
