As a Urology LPN at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive care experience and work environment. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide nursing and administrative support to clinicians and other healthcare team members.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for office visits by ensuring all necessary tests, clinical information, and order entries are ready for clinician review.
- Perform focused/limited nursing assessments and triage on routine or self-limiting medical conditions as directed by RN/clinician.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of common and routine medical conditions/illnesses and implement planned nursing and medical interventions as delegated by RN/clinician.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, or modification of individualized patient plans of care under the direction of the RN/clinician.
- Provide health teaching/education or advice on routine or self-limiting medical conditions, procedures, tests, surgeries, self-injections, etc.
- Utilize standardized tools to determine patients' level of engagement in self-care as directed by RN.
- Document all pertinent data and outcomes of nursing care according to standardized procedures and policies.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Practical Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire OR Compact License: Practical Nurse within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Demonstrated clinical nursing skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Two (2+) years of nursing experience in assigned departments clinical area within an ambulatory care setting.
- IV therapy experience or recent experience in documenting in an electronic medical record system.
