Position Summary

The Welder Fitter will engage in torch and plasma cutting operations, as well as fitting, tacking, and MIG welding carbon steel in vee groove and full penetration bevel joints across diverse components. The candidate must possess qualifications for 2G and 2F welding positions. Responsibilities include utilizing shop equipment for cutting, punching, drilling, grinding, blasting, and painting as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret weld data sheets, operational travelers, blueprints, and verbal instructions.
  • Employ turntables or lathes for circular components and set up fixtures or layout for welding.
  • Conduct visual inspections of parts prior to welding, ensuring cleanliness of the weld area.
  • Verify dimensions to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare components for welding using appropriate measuring tools and techniques.
  • Utilize temperature sticks to maintain specified heat levels and execute welds with proper penetration.
  • Deburr and grind excess weld material as necessary.
  • Repair defective welds using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Perform torch and plasma cutting on carbon steel materials.
  • Utilize various measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Safely transport materials using cranes, dollies, and carts.
  • Organize and label tools and fixtures in a systematic manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to operational procedures.
  • Identify and address safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader/Supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
  • Health and Welfare Benefits available after 30 days
  • Vacation, Personal, and Holiday Pay after 90 days
  • Immediate eligibility for 401(k)
Note: All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of post-hire requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment and reading gauges.
  • Certification to operate a forklift and utilize hoists for heavy components.
  • Basic computer skills.
