Job Summary

Advanced Atomization Technologies is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a Welder Specialist, you will be responsible for hand (TIG) and orbital welding aerospace alloys (nickel, cobalt, stainless, etc.) for the production of gas turbine fuel nozzles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure precise welding.
  • Assemble Parts Prior to Welding: Assemble parts prior to welding, ensuring a thorough understanding of part fit-up and clearance requirements.
  • Weld Production Grade Hardware: Weld production-grade hardware to meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Perform Visual Weld Inspection: Perform visual weld inspection, including under 10x magnification, to ensure the highest quality welds.
  • Section and Polish Hardware: Section and polish hardware to evaluate weld penetration.
  • Proficient Use of Backup Gases: Demonstrate proficient use of backup gases (argon) to ensure optimal welding results.
  • Comprehension of Weld Terminology: Demonstrate proficient comprehension of weld terminology (i.e. Drop thru, negative/positive welds, porosity, etc.) to ensure accurate welding.
  • Use of Gage Tools: Use gage tools such as calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, pin gages, and comparator to ensure precise measurements.
  • Meet Standard Work Requirements: Meet standard work requirements at operation to ensure efficient production.
Required Certifications

The Welder Specialist shall maintain one of the following options to retain their job title:

  • Option A: Remain S-558 Certified.
  • Option B: Remain certified on four non S-558 weld types.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • External Candidates: External candidates with 3+ years TIG or MIG experience or completion of an accredited training program in welding are preferred.
  • Completed Requirements: Completed all requirements of Welder Trainee and Welder I.

  • Ability to Work in a Sitting Position: Ability to work in a sitting position for a full shift of work.
