Job SummarySierra Vista Child & Family Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peer Navigator to join our Intensive Community Support team. As a Peer Navigator, you will work closely with individuals, groups, and communities to improve mental health outcomes as part of a treatment team. You will provide lived experience and expertise that professional training cannot provide, serving as a role model to peers and exhibiting competency and knowledge from your lived experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide the perspective of experience to clients, assisting them in accessing and linking to community resources.
  2. Help clients and family members with problem-solving, providing encouragement and hope.
  3. Provide group, individual, and family services for clients, including non-traditional hours.
  4. Keep comprehensive records that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission, and contract.
  5. Collaborate with the treatment team, referring agency, or other community agencies working with the client to coordinate treatment.
  6. Collect outcome data, including consumer satisfaction surveys, as required by the agency and contract.
  7. Participate in meetings, community outreach, and presentations.
  8. Implement program goals and objectives to meet and maintain contractual requirements and productivity.
  9. Participate in monthly peer review and attend staff trainings.

Requirements:

  1. Ability to communicate ideas in oral and written form.
  2. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  3. Ability to instruct in group and individual settings.
  4. Physical, mental, and emotional health adequate to perform duties.
  5. Must possess knowledge of mental health programs and community resources.
  6. Adhere to all applicable legal and ethical standards.
  7. Ability to work effectively with cultural/ethnic diversity.
  8. Ability to work at various locations, including client homes, schools, and community settings.
  9. Sound personal qualifications, including maturity, stability, high moral standards, and sound mental health and physical ability to perform job duties.
