Radiation Oncology Section Chief

The Radiation Oncology Section Chief plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient-centered care and management of patients with cancer and certain benign conditions. This position requires administrative leadership, direct patient care, and oversight of the section's education and research activities.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and outcomes
- Lead and manage a team of radiation oncologists and staff
- Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless patient care
- Develop and maintain continuing education programs for staff
- Participate in quality assurance activities and data analysis
- Work with the Service Administrative officer and Service Chief on DSS mapping, FTE needs, capacity, analysis, workloads, and resource needs
- Adhere to CPRS document requirements, oversee clinic scheduling and access, ensure staff productivity, and oversee performance measures, clinic utilization quality, and patient safety
- Must be a board-certified radiation oncologist
- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a staff radiation oncologist or higher
- Must have experience in supervising radiation oncology sections, physicians, and technologists
- Must have experience in successfully completing or assisting in accreditation or inspection surveys
- Must have experience teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in radiation oncology
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. May include on-call, weekends, nights, and holidays. Telework: 1-2 days per pay period.
