Reporting Structure: The position reports directly to a District Facilities Manager (DFM) and is responsible for directing the activities of subordinate staff across one or more organizational units or projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and communicating the organization's vision and objectives.
  • Setting priorities and delegating tasks and responsibilities.
  • Monitoring and assessing employee performance while providing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Managing staff schedules and approving leave requests.
  • Implementing corrective and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Overseeing the budget planning process, including forecasting future needs and justifying resource allocations.
  • Identifying training needs for employees and arranging necessary developmental training.
  • Addressing and resolving employee complaints at an informal level, escalating more serious issues as needed.
  • Fostering a fair and equitable workplace environment.

Technical Expertise: The role requires advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work, as well as a thorough understanding of budgetary, human resources, and administrative policies. The incumbent will apply program resources effectively to meet established requirements.

Collaboration and Communication: Regular interactions will occur within the organizational unit and with higher-level management to discuss project statuses and future planning. There may also be frequent communication with external parties to clarify policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. This experience should demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Additional Information: This position may require a background investigation and a one-year probationary period. Selected candidates may also need to file a financial disclosure statement within 30 days of starting the role.
