About the Position

Alameda County is seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Counselor II to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Department, you will provide rehabilitative counseling services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

Job Summary

Under general direction, you will formulate client assessments, treatment plans, and provide rehabilitation counseling for assigned clients. You will gather and present case history data, and perform related work as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in rehabilitation counseling, clinical or educational psychology, or social work/marriage and family counseling/professional counselor
  • The equivalent of two years of full-time experience in the field of vocational rehabilitation, alcoholic or drug abuse rehabilitation, or mental health treatment
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license
  • Desirable: Possession of a Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Work, or License Professional Counselor license
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of clients. You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
