This role is essential in supporting both the Parts and Service departments. The individual will assist in various tasks and responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations in the absence of the Parts Manager and Service Advisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Parts Manager and Service Advisor with daily operations and procedures.
- Act as a backup for receiving and organizing parts and materials.
- Participate in physical inventory assessments.
- Organize freight for distribution.
- Handle telephone orders for parts efficiently.
- Prepare sales documentation for parts and service transactions.
- Provide customer assistance, addressing complaints and updating on back-ordered items.
- Help locate and label parts, maintaining accurate inventory records and organizing stock according to established systems.
- Educate customers on the use and features of various parts based on equipment knowledge.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work and inventory areas.
- Advise customers on alternatives when exact replacements are unavailable.
- Assist in the repair of parts or equipment as needed.
- Contribute to diagnosing equipment issues and participate in significant repairs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of standard practices, materials, and tools used in fabrication and repair.
- Exhibit a commitment to meeting customer needs with professionalism and courtesy.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the work of junior staff as necessary.
- Diagnose complex vehicle and equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong communication skills focused on customer service.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
- Proficient in basic math, including fractions.
- Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, usage, and maintenance.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and manage parts effectively.
- Competent computer skills, particularly in scheduling and tracking systems.
