Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner

The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the Board of Nurse Practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests, reporting findings to healthcare providers.
- Prescribes medication and recommends therapeutic interventions as necessary.
- Manages and treats work-related injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care and coordinating further treatment as needed.
- Investigates workplace accidents and incidents to identify causes and recommends preventative measures.
- Collaborates with leadership to develop policies and procedures ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Arizona RN license.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
- Completion of Arizona State Board of Nursing-approved graduate-level advanced practice nursing program.
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
- Medical Examiner Certification for Department of Transportation (DOT) within 2 months of hire.
- Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) and DOT drug screening.
- Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (CAOHC) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pulmonary Function Test certification by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) within 6 years of hire.
- 2-3 years of Occupational Health NP experience.
- ACLS certification.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or COHN-S.

The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner is exposed to contact with chemicals and infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, extensive close work, and extensive computer work.
