Critical Care Nurse

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse with SSM Health, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in a fast-paced critical care environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans that promote optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities- Obtain comprehensive data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic picture of patient needs or conditions.
- Analyze and synthesize data to determine diagnoses or conditions relevant to care.
- Identify optimal outcomes for patients in collaboration with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
- Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain outcomes, using clinical judgment in collaboration with patients, families, and interprofessional care teams.
- Implement plans, employing strategies to promote and maintain a safe environment, coordinating implementation with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
- Evaluate processes and progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Contribute to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, evaluating own practice, and maintaining current knowledge and competence.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice, collaborating with patients, families, and interprofessional teams.
- Use clinical inquiry and integrate best evidence into practice.
- Apply existing evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to critical care nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
- One year registered nurse experience (Ministry Float) or two years' registered nurse experience (Regional Float).
This position is located in a critical care environment and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting with high acuity patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
