Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients, prioritizing patient needs and ensuring seamless transitions of care.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing and promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, applying knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques to support departmental and patient care quality improvement.
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program, with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably in a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Ability to improve job performance through continuing education, with a focus on quality improvement and patient-centered care.
Albany Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and serves as a regional referral center for a wide variety of patients requiring acute care. Our Emergency Department is divided into five major zones, with clinical and clerical workstations, nutrition areas, and supply and pharmaceutical dispensing machines centrally located in each zone.
