Mid-Atlantic Auditor



About the Role

This role is responsible for on-site audit and analysis of various financial records and reconciliations to ensure compliance while maintaining confidentiality. The position will compose comprehensive audit reports to the licensee documenting the audit findings, including any violations found.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex audits and make suggestions to enhance the audit process.
  • Identify and research issues, providing supported analysis and proposing solutions.
  • Analyze financial records, including bank reconciliations, banking records, and invoices.
  • Audit title agent and law firm trust/escrow accounting records and real estate closing transactions.
  • Compose comprehensive audit reports and prepare clear documentation of conclusions.
  • Plan and organize a schedule of audits to be performed monthly.
  • Schedule calls and transcribe emails related to audits and administrative orders.
  • Ensure work papers comply with department standards.
  • Assist with special projects, including process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare final audit reports and distribute to senior management and clients.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and work with various closing software systems.
  • Perform on-site audits of title agent and law firm trust/escrow accounting records and real estate closing transactions.
  • Author administrative actions.
  • Testify in administrative hearings.


Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in auditing, accounting, insurance underwriting, title, real estate escrow, banking, or other related areas.
  • Some operational auditing, banking, or knowledge of real estate closing process is required.
  • CPA, CIA, CICA, CFE, or Licensed Title Agent is a plus.
  • Knowledge of real estate closing software systems is a plus.

Salary Range

$65,000.00 - $85,000.00
