POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Owner Advocate II is to act as a liaison between the member-owners and the credit union, ensuring a seamless experience for all transactions. This position involves handling monetary transactions with precision, maintaining meticulous records, and providing comprehensive cash handling services in accordance with credit union policies. The advocate will also offer information regarding the full spectrum of credit union products and services, assist in account openings, and resolve any issues that may arise, all while delivering exceptional service.
COMPENSATION
Hourly wage up to $23.00, commensurate with experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributing to the ongoing success of the credit union is paramount. Team members are expected to deliver outstanding service to the owners consistently.
- Welcome and greet owners and visitors with professionalism.
- Ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate processing of transactions.
- Foster relationships, enhance the owner experience, and address owner inquiries positively.
- Provide product and service information both in-person and via telephone.
- Respond to electronic requests from owners with professionalism and accuracy.
- Address owner requests, concerns, and complaints, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed.
- Facilitate the opening of new accounts and explain the benefits of membership.
- Assist existing owners with sub-account openings and necessary information.
- Manage requests for share transfers, loan payments, withdrawals, and other transactions.
- Support owners in establishing individual retirement accounts.
- Promote credit union offerings based on owner needs.
- Provide alternatives for owners interested in depositing funds.
- Assist owners with digital banking services and ensure proper completion of payroll deductions and direct deposits.
- Stay informed on all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of credit union products and services.
SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE
- Minimize potential losses by adhering to security protocols and maintaining a secure work environment.
- Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and other applicable laws.
- Understand and comply with state and federal regulations as well as internal policies.
- Complete required training, including annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledgeable about credit union products and ownership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting effectively with owners and staff.
- Excellent organizational abilities with multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong cash handling capabilities.
- Proficient typing and calculator skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent use of a monitor for data entry.
- Regular use of a keyboard for data input.
