About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Principal Electrical Engineer to join Cundall's critical systems team and play a leading role in delivering innovative electrical design solutions on large-scale data centre projects.
You will collaborate with our critical systems team and work closely with colleagues from various disciplines to drive and manage the delivery of technically excellent and profitable projects.
The role involves being closely involved in the design process and production of design deliverables, managing a team of engineers, monitoring budgets and programmes, checking designs, and communicating with the project and client teams.
You will use your expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication to manage, motivate, and inspire your colleagues, including helping to develop less experienced engineers.
You will support and be supported by senior staff within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage small to medium-scale projects and teams of engineers to deliver to and exceed client expectations.
- Produce electrical designs, including schematic diagrams, layouts, calculations, specifications, and project reports.
- Carry out site inspections and surveys, detail design development, and contribute to project meetings.
- Support project teams to deliver excellent electrical designs.
Requirements
- A Chartered Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng).
- Significant experience in an electrical engineering role within critical systems/data centres.
- Proven ability to manage projects and teams, produce electrical designs, and communicate with clients.
- Essential characteristics include the ability to take ownership of tasks, think around problems, recognize the importance of collaboration, and be an organized and confident communicator.
