About the Job

We are seeking a Software Development Lead to oversee the development of software applications and lead our data engineering team in New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of software applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget\
  • Lead our data engineering team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery\

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources\

  • Ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations, implementing necessary controls and encryption methods\
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders\
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies\
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization\
  • Work closely with data analysts and scientists to understand their requirements and provide necessary data infrastructure and support\

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development and data engineering\
  • Proven track record of successfully leading software development projects and designing scalable data pipelines\
  • Experience with cloud-based data services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data integration and ETL tools (Apache Nifi, Talend, Informatica, or Apache Airflow)\
  • Strong understanding of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive)\
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills\
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines\
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills\
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies\
