POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for employing quality methodologies and analytical techniques to assess the performance of products, procured materials, and operational processes. The focus will be on continuous improvement initiatives associated with these elements. Additionally, this role will support the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of critical components of the QMS.
  • Gather, analyze, and act upon QMS data.
  • Engage in internal QMS audits.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Establish and document acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to assess and monitor supplier performance.
  • Interpret quality requirements from customers and internally, developing quality plans to ensure compliance.
  • Represent the Quality function in the New Product Development Process as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Certification in a quality discipline is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of three years of experience in quality principles, metrics, and problem-solving methodologies, including supplier quality, manufacturing quality, internal auditing, SPC, root cause analysis, and cost of poor quality reduction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for creating professional documents and reports. Familiarity with statistical software such as Minitab is essential.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of metrology techniques and outputs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the capability to participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with fundamental Quality Management System standards such as ISO 9001 or AS 9100.
  • Basic understanding of Process Control tools and statistical methods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role primarily operates in a climate-controlled setting, with occasional work in areas subject to temperature and noise variations.

TRAVEL:
Regular travel may be required.
