Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bindery Technician to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Bindery Technician, you will be responsible for operating bindery equipment to produce high-quality documents and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate bindery equipment to finish printed documents, including cutting, folding, and binding.
  • Adjust bindery equipment to maintain finishing specifications and monitor the accuracy of the final product.
  • Calculate the quantity of materials necessary for completion of a specified order.
  • Stack and initiate delivery of completed production runs to the appropriate location.
  • Clean, maintain, and make minor repairs to assigned equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of jobs completed, materials used, and machine downtime.
  • Assist in moving and stacking pallets for temporary storage and moving printed material to the work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable work experience as a Bindery Technician or training as a Printing Service Technician.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
  • Working knowledge of bindery equipment and safe and efficient procedures for operating such equipment.
  • Skilled in setting up, loading, and adjusting binding equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with coworkers and other department employees.
